What is one of the most important factors for getting a man's attention? It is your physical appearance. Because men are visual creatures, they will initially be attracted to you by your physical appearance. A man must find something physically attractive about a woman for him to take interest in her. That makes your physical appearance is an important asset that can be leveraged to help you get the attention of more men.
In my book, Why I Love Men: The Joys of Dating, I discuss the importance of completing a Beauty Transformation to allow you to maximize your physical attributes/features to always look your best. A Beauty Transformation is about improving the aspects of your appearance that are within your control (weight, fitness, overall health, hair, skin, etc.). In the book I discuss all the steps to allow you to complete your own Beauty Transformation (without cosmetic surgery). One of the critical steps in the Beauty Transformation is the Closet Inventory.
The purpose of a Closet Inventory is to have you try on all of the clothes in your closet to see if the outfit still looks good on you and to see if the clothing accents the best aspects of you figure. A personal image consultant can typically participate in your Closet Inventory and this will allow you to get objective feedback from a trained image consultant. If you cannot afford a personal image consultant at this time, get three of your closest girlfriends to help you conduct a Closet Inventory. As you try on your clothing, if the item looks good on you, than it stays in the closet. If not, it goes into a box of items that can be donated to either a family member, friend or the Salvation Army. Your girlfriends can evaluate how you look in your clothes and vote on which items look great on you versus which items are not very appealing on you. This is fun to do over food, drinks and plenty of laughter. It's better to have fewer clothes that look sensational on you, then a closet full of clothes that make you look average. As a result of your Closet Inventory, you will better understand your body type and which type of clothes look best on your body. One interesting tip that I learned some time ago was to establish a relationship with a tailor, as everyone needs a good tailor. Very few of us actually fit in clothes right off the rack. Therefore, a great tailor is needed, because a proper fit can make the quality of the clothes look so much better. Once you have a clear picture of what looks good on you, the next time you go shopping, you can buy clothing that leverages your best physical features and allows you to attract the men you desire.
Your goal should be to look beautiful whenever you walk out the door. We have to realize that we are selling ourselves every time we are out and about in the world. Our appearance tells people about our age, profession, marital status, intelligence, and financial status. Even the style of your hair, or lack thereof, communicates a lot about you as well. Think of beauty and attractiveness as a method to create opportunities and options for you in your dating life.
