Detox Weight Loss Methods Pt. II: Castor Oil
Without detoxification, millions of people fail to lose weight permanently. There are many factors that contribute to weight gain, but one factor that’s often overlooked by traditional diet programs is toxic overload. The majority of toxins you’re exposed to are stored in your fat cells. Toxins stored in fat cells are difficult to get rid of by dieting only, you have to incorporate detoxing to maximize permanent weight loss. Detoxing doesn’t always mean making extreme diet choices, since our bodies are made to flush out toxins and waste on their own. Cleansing can be as simple as applying these 3 simple detox methods to your routine, which are part of the 21 detox methods that I introduce in the Green Smoothies for Life book and teach in my private Slay at Any Age VIP group.
Part two of three is all about: Castor oil!
Cold pressed, hexane free castor oil, when used for castor oil packs, has a drawing action, helping to rid the body of toxins and acidic build-up. Castor oil works by moving and increasing blood circulation to the area of the body where it’s applied. It also aids applied areas in detoxification, alleviating tension and reducing pain, inflammation within the joints, tissues and organs. The most common place that castor oil packs are used is over the liver, gallbladder and/or the intestines.
Make Your Own
Castor oil packs are made by soaking a piece of cotton or wool flannel in castor oil, then covering it with a sheet of plastic wrap. A hot water bottle or heating pad is placed over the plastic to heat the pack. Keep the pack on for 30 to 45 minutes while in a relaxed position. You can rest while the pack is in place. After removing the pack, cleanse the area with a solution of water and baking soda. Store the pack in a covered container in the refrigerator.
You can place the cloth on the right side of the abdomen to stimulate the liver or directly on inflamed and swollen joints and muscle strains. It can be used on the abdomen to relieve constipation and other digestive disorders and on the lower abdomen in cases of menstrual irregularities and uterine and ovarian cysts.
Castor oil should not be taken internally. It should not be applied to broken skin or used during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or during menstrual flow.
