Without detoxification, millions of people fail to lose weight permanently. There are many factors that contribute to weight gain, but one factor that’s often overlooked by traditional diet programs is toxic overload. The majority of toxins you’re exposed to are stored in your fat cells. Toxins stored in fat cells are difficult to get rid of by dieting only, you have to incorporate detoxing to maximize permanent weight loss. Detoxing doesn’t always mean making extreme diet choices, since our bodies are made to flush out toxins and waste on their own. Cleansing can be as simple as applying these 3 simple detox methods to your routine, which are part of the 21 detox methods that I introduce in the Green Smoothies for Life book and teach in my private Slay at Any Age VIP group.

Part three of three is all about: Liver Cleansing.

The liver, nicknamed the fat-burning organ, is key to detoxing and fat burning in the body. The liver works day and night to cleanse the blood of toxins like chemicals, bad bacteria, and other foreign substances. A lot of people don’t know the liver is also responsible for breaking down fats. It has been said that the length and quality of life depends on proper liver function, so you’ll want to keep it functioning at its best. An unhealthy diet or lifestyle can catch up to us, and a liver cleanse becomes necessary.

Symptoms of a Sluggish Liver

Before beginning a liver cleanse it’s important to know the signs of a sluggish or poorly functioning liver. Here are few of the symptoms to look for:

  • Eyes are no longer white
  • Poor skin tone, including acne or breakouts around the nose, cheeks, and chin
  • Dark circles under eyes
  • Yellow-coated tongue
  • Bitter taste in the mouth
  • Headaches, Moodiness and irritability.

Ways to Cleanse

Now that you understand the symptoms, let’s discuss how to effectively cleanse the liver with supplements and apple cider vinegar.

Supplements: Milk thistle, dandelion root, and burdock are all-natural herbs that are very effective. You’ll find many products on the market combine these herbs into one supplement so you can achieve the best results. As you look for products to help you cleanse your liver, be sure to use only those that are all-natural and gentle on the body. My two favorite livercleansing supplements are Liver Rescue by HealthForce and Livatone Plus by Dr. Sandra Cabot.

Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar boasts various healing properties for the skin and blood, as well as liver detoxification properties. An inexpensive way to cleanse your liver is to drink 2 tablespoons of raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar in 8 ounces of water every morning and night.

Detoxing your liver boosts your immune system, reduces dark circles under your eyes, improves skin tone and brightens the whites of eyes. Additionally, your liver produces bile, which the digestive system uses to break down fat. And since liver cleansing promotes bile production, detoxing your liver might be just the place to start if you want to lose weight! Till next time..
