The Primary Organ That Makes You Fat or Skinny!

The one secret to losing weight and keeping it off is to keep the liver healthy and operating at peak performance. The liver (also known as the fat-burning organ) is the number-one secret weapon to weight loss. The liver is responsible for breaking down, eliminating, and neutralizing toxins in the body and breaking down fats in the body.

The liver, which is about the size of a football and weighs in at about three to five pounds, is the largest single organ in the body. Think of the liver as a washing machine for blood. The liver supports the digestive system, controls blood sugar levels, and regulates fat storage. If poisons or excess fats clog your liver, it can’t perform its fat-burning function. When your liver cannot metabolize well, you have no energy, you won’t absorb nutrients essential for your body to live, and your body can’t fight disease.

In today’s environment, we take in more and more toxins every day: pollutants, birth control pills, prescription medications, household cleaners, food additives, and pesticides. As we age, toxins build up in our system and create a toxic overload in the body. When the liver is overloaded with toxins, it has a difficult time eliminating them, so it begins to store them in fat cells. The more toxins we take in over time, the more fat cells are created in the body.

When your liver functions efficiently, it is much easier for you to lose weight. The liver has to perform well enough to eliminate the toxins that are causing fat cells in the body. If you have body fat accumulation, especially around the waist and midsection (i.e., belly fat), it suggests that your liver may not be functioning properly or as efficiently as it could. To lose this excess weight, you have to detoxify and cleanse the liver, which leads to not only a slimmer waistline but also a thinner body.

I know, you might be thinking I believe my liver is working just fine. But how do you know? Some of the symptoms of toxic overload in the body include bloating, constipation, indigestion, low energy, fatigue, brain fog, depression, weight gain, chronic pain, infections, allergies, and headaches. In my new book, Lose Weight Without Dieting or Working Out!, you can take the “How Toxic Are You?” Quiz to assess the toxic overload in your body. This will help you understand if toxic overload is making it harder for you to lose weight.

In summary, the liver breaks down everything that enters your body and distinguishes between the nutrients you need to absorb and the dangerous or unnecessary toxic substances that must be filtered out of your blood. It breaks down foods, beverages, prescription medicines, vitamins, even pesticides from foods. But when the liver is clogged and overwhelmed with toxins, it can’t do a very effective job of breaking down foods and processing nutrients and fats. So, if you’re concerned with managing your weight, remember this important point: The more toxic your body becomes, the more difficulty you’ll have losing weight and keeping it off.
